Forskningsintressen Som språkvetare i engelska arbetar jag framför allt med frågor som rör språkinlärning är intresserar mig specifikt för språk- och ämnesintegrerad utbildning (på engelska Content and Language Integrated Learning – CLIL), där engelska används som undervisningsspråk i icke-språkliga skolämnen, samt utbredning och effekter av så kallad fritidsengelska, alltså engelska som barn och ungdomar kommer i kontakt med utanför skolans väggar. Just nu leder jag det av Vetenskapsrådet finansierade forskningsprojektet Unga Svenskar och Engelska där vi undersöker vilka kontakter med och kunskaper i engelska 3-7-åringar i Sverige har (se vidare https://www.gu.se/forskning/unga-svenskar-och-engelska-use).
Utbildningsintressen Jag föreläser om min forskning inom ramen för lärarutbildningen samt inom forskarutbildningen. Jag är för närvarande huvudhandledare för Clara Palm (inom ramen för forskarskolan SEMLA https://www.isd.su.se/semla-forskarskola-i-l%C3%A4rande-undervisning-och-bed%C3%B6mning-i-svenska-och-engelska), och Marta Segura Hudson, samt biträdande handledare för Jessica Nilsson (antagen i forskarskolan CUL cul.gu.se/CUL+forskarskola).
