Om Karin Törnbom

Bio

My research focuses on psychosocial aspects of health, participation, and social inclusion. I am interested in how people living with long-term health conditions, as well as people who have been outside the labour market for extended periods, can be better supported to participate in everyday life and society.

My current research includes projects on burnout syndrome, sick leave and return to work, and labour market inclusion of people who have been outside working life for a long time.

In my research, I value participatory approaches and close collaboration with patients and other stakeholders. My teaching is mainly within social work and health care counselling, with a focus on psychosocial work, health and ill health, methods, ethics, and ageing.
