Paula Giraldo
Om Paula Giraldo
Paula Giraldo graduated with an MSc in Molecular Medicine and Innovative treatment from Uppsala University and the University of Groningen. During her Master's studies, she worked on evaluating the role of the ATPase inhibitory factor-1 in hypertrophy. Her MSc Master’s thesis was on evaluating the mechanisms and roles of mitophagy in neurodegeneration. Previously, she obtained a Bachelor's degree in 2017 in Biological Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
Paula Giraldo is currently a doctoral student in the Department of Biomaterials as part of the Marie-Curie BIOREMIA European Training Network at the University of Gothenburg. Her PhD is focused on developing a robust in vitro model to evaluate the interplay between inflammation and regeneration and its modulation by surface and bulk composition of metallic materials. The main goal is to use this in vitro model to systematically study the role of alloying elements and surface modifications to better understand what factors are important for healing
