Andrej Kokkonen är forskare och filosofie doktor i statsvetenskap vid Statsvetenskapliga institutionen, Göteborgs universitet.
Forskningsområden
• Familjepolitik och familjebildande • Etnisk mångfald, tillit och tolerans • Könsskillnader i väljarstöd för invandringskritiska partier • Successionsordningars påverkan på ledaröverlevnad, inbördeskrig och statsbyggnad i autokratier
Pågående forskning
För närvarande arbetar Kokkonen i tre projekt. I det första, som är finansierat av VR, studerar han tillsammans med professorerna Peter Esaiasson och Mikael Gilljam hur etnisk mångfald på arbetsplatser och i skolor påverkar tillit och tolerans.
I det andra, som är finansierat av FAS, studerar han tillsammans med Stefan Dahlberg, Wouter van der Brug och Eelco Harteveld varför kvinnor inte röstar på invandringskritiska partier i lika hög grad som män.
I det tredje, som finansieras av VR, studerar han tillsammans med Anders Sundell hur successionsordningar påverkar ledaröverlevnad, inbördeskrig och statsbyggnad i autokratier.
Undervisning
Kokkonen undervisar för närvarande om hur man skriver forskningsöversikter och uppsatser. Han handleder även uppsatser på magister- och mastersnivå.
