Jag är universitetslektor i sociologi. Det mesta av min nuvarande undervisning är en del av Lärarutbildningen. Jag ingår också i Formas forskningsprojekt Hållbar sjömat i Sveriges nya landsbygdsutveckling. I detta projekt analyserar jag berättelser om det österbottniska sillkvoten.
Mer generellt tillämpar min forskning Mary Douglas kulturteori, genom vilken jag för närvarande även utforskar Science-ILK och andra multidisciplinära samarbeten, ritualer för touchrugby och naturkontakt. I den senare strömmen strävar jag efter att utveckla en naturkontaktteori som hjälper planerare som försöker främja ekologiska attityder bland deltagarna. Jag har således ett brett spektrum av teoretisk kompetens och intressen och är öppen för förfrågningar gällande handledning från grund- till doktorandnivå.
