The following hotels are large hotels, centrally located and near public transportation:

The public transportation in Gothenburg is either bus or tram and is operated by Västtrafik. On their website you can find information about tickets, prices and time tables. Link to Västtrafik.

The Schumpeter Prize Dinner, aligned with the conference theme "Transformation: Creative Accumulation and Creative Destruction in the Economy," will take place at Lindholmen, a historic shipyard turned vibrant venue in Gothenburg. This dynamic setting reflects the city's rich industrial heritage while embracing its contemporary spirit. As delegates of ISS2024, you are invited to enjoy an evening of diverse street food options and socializing amidst the lively atmosphere of Lindholmen. See more at: https://www.kooperativet.se/ (only in Swedish)

Location

The dinner venue, Kooperativet is located in Lindholmen, address: Anders Carlssons gata 2. Link to map.

Getting there (and back)

We will arrange buses from the Wallenberg conference centre at Medicinaregatan 20 A,  to the dinner venue at Lindholmen. Buses will leave the conference center at 18:00. There will be no stops on the way to pick up or drop off people.

The dinner venue is located across the river and to get back we recommend taking the public transportation ferry to Stenpiren for an additional view of Gothenburg. However, buses generally run more frequently during the evenings and depending on where you are staying it might get you back to your hotel faster.

During the dinner

During the dinner, the winner of the Schumpeter Prize will be announced!

For ISS2024 the International Joseph A Schumpeter Society will award one PhD Student a new prize: The Schumpeter Young Scholar Award. All PhD Students involved in the workshop on Sunday will be considered for the award.

Menue

Food
There will be a variety of food options to choose from during the dinner and we are confident everyone will find something to their liking. The food is served for approximately two hours and during this time you can go as many times as you want to get a plate of the food of your choice. The plates are small to medium sized, and you are encouraged to move around and take a seat at different tables as you try out the different food options.

Drinks
When you arrive at Kooperativet you will get one glass of sparkling wine and two drink tickets. The drink tickets can be used for wine, beer, and soft drinks in any of the staffed bars. If you want something more to drink you can purchase what you wish in the bars and pay by card.
