Application to Master in Communication
Welcome with your application to the Master in Communication programme. Please read the instructions carefully before you start your application.
Entry requirements
A Bachelor's degree of 180 credits or corresponding. Applicants must prove their knowledge of English: English 6/English B from Swedish Upper Secondary School or the equivalent level of an internationally recognized test, for example TOEFL, IELTS.
Selection
All students who apply for the programme, and meet the entry requirements, compete with one another for the places that are available. The selection of eligable applicants is based upon a Statement of Intent that all applicants must submit according to the instructions below.
Statement of Intent
The Statement of Intent should be uploaded at universityadmission.se. The Statement of Intent should display your motivation and objectives for studying the programme Master in Communication at the Department of Applied IT.
Emphasis should be placed on the following questions:

Why have you chosen to apply to the programme Master in Communication?

How would studying the programme Master in Communication further develop your academic and professional profile as well as support your future career?

How would you as a student contribute to the programme Master in Communication?
In addition, please note the following:

Your document should have the headline "Statement of Intent. Master in Communication".

Include your name and e-mail address.

Your Statement of Intent has to be submitted in English.

The text must not exceed 4000 characters (including spaces, but excluding headline, name and e-mail address). Documents exceeding 4000 characters will not be considered. Please indicate the number of characters in your letter.
What Happens Next?
Your Statement of Intent will be assessed by a jury consisting of teachers connected with the programme. The selection of applicants will be guided by the following evaluation criteria:

ability of the applicant to demonstrate an understanding of the field of communication in general as well as the programme Master in Communication specifically,

ability to relate objectives and foci of the programme Master in Communication to the applicant’s academic and professional profile as well as career aspirations,
-
ability to show how the applicant would contribute in a meaningful, yet realistic way to the programme Master in Communication, and ability to demonstrate a very good command of English.
Important Dates for the Autumn Semester 2021
First admission round
All international applicants are encouraged to apply in the First admission round. This round takes place well in advance of the academic year and gives applicants the time they need to pay their tuition fees, apply for and receive their residence permit (if required), find housing, etc.
