Housing for immigrants and community integration in Europe and beyond: Strategies, policies, dwellings, and governance

CGM's director Andrea Spehar and Alexandra Bousiou are part of a consortium which got selected for funding under the EU Horizon 2020 - Work Programme 2018-2020 Europe in a changing world – Inclusive, innovative and reflective societies (MIGRATION-04-2020: Inclusive and innovative practices for the integration of recently arrived migrants in local communities).

The title of the project is: "MERGING - Housing for immigrants and community integration in Europe and beyond: Strategies, policies, dwellings, and governance".

The consortium is coordinated by Jean Moulin University Lyon 3 and it has 9 members from Academia and civil society coming from France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Belgium and Switzerland. The suggested budget of the project is around 2,95 million Euros and it will be launched early 2021. The general objective of the project is to develop, implement and test a participatory housing construction program dedicated to immigrants involving various stakeholders (citizens, civil society actors, education institutions, private sector and beneficiaries) to propose inclusive measures recommendations for local, regional, national and European authorities and other stakeholders, and disseminate the findings.
