Call for Papers The EU and the Emerging Powers

Unprecedented and unpredictable events and developments since the start of the 21st century are forcing a radical revision of EU and emerging powers perspectives on global governance. The purpose of this conference will be to analyze how emerging powers influence the EU's external policies and its global governance strategy across four key dimensions: economy and development; environment and energy; security; and human rights, democracy and rule of law

The Center for European Studies of the Université catholique de Louvain, the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies of the University of Leuven, the College of Europe, the Department of Political Sciences of Ghent University, the Department of Political Science of the University of Liège, the Institute for European Studies of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the Institute for European Studies of the Université Libre de Bruxelles, the Institute for European studies of the Facultés universitaires Saint Louis invite experts to contribute a paper which focuses on the relations between the European Union and emerging powers with regard to different issues in economic, security, environmental and energy as well as human rights policy.

The papers will be presented at an International Conference that will take place at the European Parliament on 29 and 30 April 2013.
