Networks are used in very diverse approaches to language, for instance:

  • Constructional networks in construction grammar
  • Neural networks in computational language learning
  • Social networks in sociolinguistics

The aim of the workshop is to get an overview of the linguistic research that uses networks in Gothenburg, in order to see whether there are areas of convergence, and a potential for exchange and collaboration. The contributors of the workshop present their ongoing research, with a focus on the role of networks in their theory, data and visualization. Central questions discussed by contributors:

  • What kind of concept of network do you use?
  • What theoretical background?
  • What kind of data?
  • What kind of method?
  • Do you use visualizations?
  • What kind of input/collaboration do you need?

Registration

The workshop is free of charge, but registration is required. Please, send a mail to evie.cousse@gu.se before 16 November 2023 to register.
