The welfare effects of trade-policy in Latin America, evidence for Peru

The research project aims at studying and measuring how the poorest families in Latin America have fared amidst global mega trends and policy-shocks from a long-run perspective. More precisely, it looks at the experience of Peruvian households to understand how changes in trade-policy –including late episodes of trade liberalisation– might have disrupted sectoral labour markets and human capital formation and how, if so, these both translated into economic inequalities and affected poverty outcomes.
