The School of Business, Economics and Law is accredited by EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA, and thus one of only about 100 business schools in the World that is “Triple Crown” accredited.

One of about 100 Triple Crown accredited business school in the World

EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA are the three most prestigious international accreditations for business schools. They are different in nature and complement each other. Only about 100 business schools in the world have all three distinctions and are thus popularly referred to as “Triple Crown” accredited.

This is valuable proof that the School's courses, programmes, research and collaborations maintain an internationally high quality. The accreditation confirms that we are a strong business school, active in an international arena and continually developing in line with the requirements and changes around us. The accreditations additionally strengthen our brand and are, in many cases, prerequisite for collaborations (e.g. student exchanges) with the world’s best business schools.

Quality assurance

Gaining accreditation revolves around ensuring the quality of; our education; our research; and, our collaboration with industry and society. We do this by having clear targets and processes for continuous quality management initiatives. Even if the accreditations relate primarily to business administration, they mirror the strength throughout the School’s operations. Similarly, the evaluation process that led to accreditation is also of benefit to the School as a whole.

About the accreditations

The accreditations EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB are international recognitions of quality of the organisation.

Each of the three accreditations has a unique focus and by achieving all three, the School ensures that it is a high-quality institution of higher education and that is has rigorous processes in place for continuous quality improvement.

The School obtained its first EQUIS accreditation in 2004 and was re-accredited in 2009, 2014 and in 2017.

EQUIS assesses the whole institution and has a strong focus on governance and strategy, research, internationalisation, ethics, responsibility and sustainability and collaboration with the business community. There are currently about 200 EQUIS-accredited business schools around the world.

The School obtained its first AMBA accreditation for its Executive MBA programme in 2013 and was re-accredited in 2016 and in 2021.

AMBA accredits MBA programmes and the assessment is based on the quality of the education, the curricula and the interaction with the participants. There are about 290 AMBA-accredited schools around the world.

The School obtained its first AACSB accreditation in 2016 and was re-accredited in 2022.

AACSB International assesses programmes but accredits institutions. AACSB focuses on governance, mission, faculty qualifications and learning. There are about 900 AACSB accredited business schools around the world.
