Strong research areas
Gothenburg University is engaged in six national Strategic Research Areas (SFO).
All are part of a long-term initiative decided by the government in 2009. The research areas develop interdisciplinary excellent research with the aim of generating new knowledge for the benefit of society. Gothenburg University is primarily responsible for the area of Person-Centered Care (GPCC) and collaborates with several other institutions within the areas of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (BECC), Climate Research (MERGE), Neuroscience (Multipark), Transportation (STI), and Materials (SIMS).
