Admission autumn 2024: Key dates for international students

Have you applied for a degree programme starting Autumn 2024? On this page, you will find an overview with key dates regarding admission, tuition deadlines, and much more. You will also receive an overview of webinars and other services we provide for all our admitted students.


1 February - Deadline for submitting documents on University Admission 

The deadline to submit your application was 15 January but you have until this date to submit supporting documents, pay application fee or submit document fee exempt status. 

8 February - Axel Adler Scholarship invitations 

Students who have applied to a programme at the University of Gothenburg as their first priority through University Admissions and fulfill the requirements, will receive an email with application instructions around 8 February.

University webinars and digital events
We will tell you all about the next steps to take following your admission. University staff and international student ambassadors will share important information and insights through presentations and Q&A sessions. All webinars will be recorded.


Deadline paying tuition fee

Together with your admission, you will receive more information about tuition fees and the last day to pay the first tuition fee installment. Our recommendation is however to pay it as soon as possible after the admission results if you are applying for a residence permit. How to pay your tuition

University webinars and digital events
During the month of May, you will get an impression of what you can expect from living and studying in Gothenburg through our webinars and Zoom Cafés, with first-hand information from our international students and University staff. All webinars will be recorded.


Newsletters from Welcome Services

During the summer months, Welcome Services will keep you updated with all you need for your study, travel, and moving preparations. Stay tuned for more details and dates.


The following information and dates only apply if you have applied in the second admission round, with application deadline 15 April. 

11 July  - Admission results published (Selection 1) 

The notification of selection results is published under your account on University Admissions. 

19 July - Last day to reply to you admission offer

In this admission round you are required to accept or decline your offer through University Admissions. 

25 July - Final admission results published (Selection 2)

The final selection result is published under your account on University Admissions. You don't need to reply. 

Tuition fee payments

If you have applied in the second admission round and are required to pay tuition fee, the University will e-mail you information about payments.

2 September - The autumn semester starts

The official start of the autumn semester. Please note that some courses can start a bit earlier or later. Some faculties and departments also host welcome events the week before.
