Courses taught in Swedish
If you have a high proficiency in Swedish you can also apply for academic courses where the language of instruction is Swedish. You should first ask your international coordinator at the University of Gothenburg if you can take courses taught in Swedish.
Courses taught in Swedish are found in the Swedish course catalogue, Hitta utbildning. You can refer to this list of courses when deciding which courses you wish to apply for. Please note that the Swedish course catalogue refer to universityadmissions.se for application. This information does not apply for exchange students. As an exchange student you should always follow the application procedures for exchange students as described in the Eight steps of becoming an exchange student.
Selecting modules within courses
Exchange students with proficiency in Swedish can also chose to select modules within Swedish taught courses.
For example the course ”SV1118 - Svenska med språkvetenskaplig inriktning” is 30 credits. It consists however of 4 modules. As an exchange student you can chose to study just one or two of these modules instead of the full course. This gives you freedom to combine these modules with other courses or modules within other courses.

Always consult your international coordinator at the University of Gothenburg before applying for courses/modules taught in Swedish. Your language proficiency must be assessed and mapping of modules have to be confirmed.
