Scholarships for students at the School of Business, Economics and Law

If you are applying to the Master's programmes given at the School of Business, Economics and Law you can apply to the The Richard C. Malmsten Memorial Foundation Scholarship. If you are also a citizen of the People’s Republic of China or the Republic of India you can also apply for The Volvo Group Scholarship.

The Richard C. Malmsten Memorial Foundation Scholarship

Richard C. Malmsten Memorial Foundation Scholarship is available for applicants to specified programmes below in the admission for Autumn 2021. The scholarship covers part of the tuition fee.

    The Richard C. Malmsten Memorial Foundation scholarship is open to apply to if;

    • You are required to pay tuition fee for education in Sweden
    • You have applied for one of the School of Business, Economics and Law’s Master’s programmes:Master of Science in Accounting and Financial Management, Master of Science in Economics, Master of Science in Finance, Master of Science in International Business and Trade, Master of Science in Innovation and Industrial Management, Master of Science in Knowledge Based Entrepreneurship, Master of Science in Logistics and Transport Management, Master of Science in Management, Master of Science in Marketing and Consumption.

    The scholarship covers part of the tuition fee, specifically 100 000 SEK over two years. This means that students will receive a tuition fee waiver of 25 000 SEK per semester.

    The selection of students will be based on applicants admitted to one of the School of Business, Economics and Law’s Master’s programmes. Admitted students are divided in to 2 groups. First, all places are allocated to applicants in group 1. If any places are left they are distributed to applicants in group 2.

    Group 1 (prioritized)    Applicants with a valid GMAT result or GRE General Test result (minimum score 350), sent to the School of Business, Economics and Law. If there are any scholarships left they are distributed to applicants in group 2.

    Group 2. (secondary)    Students without GMAT or GRE General Test result. Students are ranked according to number of higher education credits from the Bachelor´s degree (maximum 225).

    If students have been offered any of the scholarships from the Swedish Institute or the study scholarships offered by University of Gothenburg, they will not qualify for the The Richard C Malmsten Memorial Foundation Scholarship. The selection of students for the scholarship is made by the School of Business, Economics and Law’s selection committee and is not applicable for appeal.

    You apply through this link .The application will open the November 2, 2020 and the last day to apply will be February 1, 2021. The selection of students will be finalized in the beginning of April 2021.

    The Volvo Group Scholarship

    Are you a citizens of the People’s Republic of China or the Republic of India and required to pay a tuition fee for education in Sweden? Are you applying to Master of Science in Economics, or Finance or Logistics and Transport Management? Then you have the opportunity to apply for the Volvo Group scholarships.

    For the 2021 admission the Scholarship is only open for students applying to the following master programmes at the Graduate School, School of Business, Economics and Law, at the University of Gothenburg.

    • Economics
    • Finance
    • Logistics and Transport Management

    You must

    • Be a citizens of the People’s Republic of China or the Republic of India
    • Have a GMAT or GRE score
    • Have applied at www.universityadmissions.se to one of the above mentioned programmes for the 2021 admission period, by the latest 15th of January 2021.

    The scholarship programme covers 100 % of the tuition fee for a two-year Master’s programme for one student for the admission for Autumn 2021. The awarded student will will also be part of a very exclusive programme which includes visits to Volvo Group in Gothenburg, contact with a mentor at Volvo Group, possibilities of a summer job at Volvo Group, and cooperation in regards to the Master's Degree project.

     

    The selection of the student is based on the following:

    • The GMAT or GRE General Test result.
    • Other relevant experience (extracurricular activities, work experience etc.).
    • Personal letter describing why you are applying specifially to the Volvo Group Scholarship.

    Link to application form will be available here in December 2020. The last day to apply will be February 1, 2021. The selection of students will be finalized in the beginning of April 2021.

    Besides submitting your application on the link above you must also e-mail your CV (maximum 2 pages) as well as a personal letter describing why you are applying specifically to the Volvo Group Scholarship to nathalie.johansson@gs.gu.se by the latest February 1, 2021.

    Please note that if you accept the Volvo Group Scholarship you will not be able to receive the Axel Adler Scholarship.
