Exhibitions and workshops

Throughout the day there are a number of exhibitions in both buildings. Follow the signs or ask one of our entrance hosts to find your way.

At Kristinelundsgatan 6-8

Workshop: "I longed for you, even before I knew you existed". Mattias Gunnarsson, Senior Lecturer in Design and Carl-Johan Skogh, Senior Lecturer in Design are responsible for the independent course ÄTA! (EAT!). In the course ÄTA - Food Culture, Materiality and Design, the simple meal stands as a platform for conversation, reflection, experiences and meetings. The materiality, spatiality, and choreography of eating - as in, the objects we use, the space we are in and how we move - is the starting point for the course's exploratory design work.
Exhibition: Students from the first year of the MFA programme in Child Culture Design showcase the results and process from a workshop that took place earlier this week where preschool children were invited to participate and test and examine the students' work to jointly find ways to develop the projects in the right direction. The workshop and the collaboration with the preschoolers is part of the course Homo Ludens where the students are working on the project Negotiating Play, which is based on conflicts that arise when children's need for play and movement does not always match the will of the adults or the design of the built environment.
Exhibition: Come and see examples of what students from the crafts programmes are working on in their courses. The exhibition shows the breadth of expressions and methods currently being explored by the students. Location: Room 310
Exhibition: HOW DOES IT HAPPEN? To explore is to study, investigate and immerse oneself in something. It is also to search, not to know, to be uncertain and to try to find ways that make it possible to put up with it. To explore is to be on a journey through unknown terrains, without knowing anything about your final destination. One of the challenges is therefore to cope with being in uncertainty, to keep the movement alive and to give it conscious direction, without moving towards a final destination, something that you already know what it is. - The students in year 2, design, exhibit exploratory methods and processes from the course DBA21A H23, Exploratory design work.

At Vasagatan 50

Exhibition: "FORM-RE-FORM" The first year students in BFA Fine Art open their studios and show a selection of works created during the first semester of the programme. Although they have all worked on individual issues, they can discern a common fascination with change, transformation and form. The students have explored these issues through sculpture, video, installation, performance and painting. You can find the exhibition on the fifth floor via lift D.
Exhibition: The MFA students at Fine Art open up their studios and are available for talks. Time: 10-12 and 13-15
Exhibition: Based on “the City project”, the second-year students of the BFA programme in Photography have each created an artist book. They now show their zines to visitors in the X-library.
HDK-Valand has 3 student-run galleries - visit them!
Exhibition: At Monitor, Irys Kluska exhibits together with Ann-Maj Risgaard, both are in their second year of the master's programme in crafts. Irys specialising in ceramic art and Anna-Maja in textile art.
Exhibition: At Rotor2, Ville Hulling and David Spraggs, both from the second year of the Master's programme in Fine Arts, will be exhibiting.
Exhibition: In the Street Gallery you can see pictures by Camilla Lohman, a second year student of the Master's Programme in Photography.

CAFÉ : "I want my coffee like I want my metal, black!"
