Discover your artistic voice at HDK-Valand – Academy of Art and Design, University of Gothenburg. Our Master’s programmes combine artistic practice with critical reflection, experimentation and research, in a vibrant international community.

Our MFA programmes

We offer 11 international Master’s programmes in design, fine art, film, photography, craft and literary composition. Two of the programmes are based at Campus Steneby in Dals Långed – a unique workshop-based environment for material exploration and artistic practice. The remaining programmes are taught in central Gothenburg, in close connection with Sweden’s largest artistic faculty.

Tuition and scholarships

Students from outside the EU/EEA who are required to pay tuition fees can apply for scholarships. These may cover part or all of the tuition cost. The University of Gothenburg also provides links to external scholarship providers.
