Bachelor's programme at HDK-Valand

HDK-Valand offers three bachelor’s programmes taught entirely in English: Metal Art, Wood Oriented Furniture Design and Crafting Futures. These programmes are based at Campus Steneby, about 170 kilometres north of Gothenburg.

These three programmes combine artistic exploration with material-based practice. All are situated in a unique environment at Campus Steneby, where materials, ideas, and people meet.

Freestanding courses at HDK-Valand

At HDK-Valand, you can take freestanding courses in areas such as design, craft and fine art – ranging from short summer courses to advanced-level classes. Most of our English-taught freestanding courses are offered online. We have three application periods per year – keep an eye out for new course offerings!

Tuition and scholarships

No tuition fees are charged for EU/EEA citizens, students with a Swedish residence permit, or exchange students. If you are required to pay tuition fees, there are several scholarship opportunities available — both from the University of Gothenburg and external organisations.
