Education in Human Geography

Our courses look at how people, companies and regions develop in relation to their surroundings. We are interested in geographical conditions, relations and change processes. We study the diversity of factors which affect the development of society, the constructed environment and human culture in various locations around the world.

Within the subject, geographical dimensions are studied: the significance of place and space, networks and mobility, landscapes and the environment. All of these dimensions are crucial for our understanding of society, economic conditions, and people’s everyday lives in a world characterized by globalization, regionalization, uneven development, urbanization, and environmental challenges. Current themes are explored, such as globalization and integration, sustainable development and environmental planning, regional development and welfare, communication and transport, poverty, and development opportunities in different parts of the world.

We offer education at the undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels, while our research constitutes an important part of our activities.
