All eight faculties at the University of Gothenburg are represented in the Sea and Society steering committee, as well as a representative from the Swedish Institute for the Marine Environment, Chalmers University of Technology, the Department of Marine Sciences, and Gothenburg Centre for Sustainable Development (GMV). The chairman is Göran Hilmersson. The vice chairman is Per Cramér.
