We conduct education and internationally leading research on human behaviour, neuropsychiatric pathogenic processes as well as psychiatric treatment and diagnosis.
Our research
Our research is translational, covering cell and animal models, clinical studies and extensive epidemiological research. We conduct research on, for example, bipolar disorder, addiction disorders, ageing, neurochemistry and forensic psychiatry.

Study here
The department teaches psychiatry in undergraduate education, mainly in the Programme in Medicine, and runs a graduate school in psychiatry. We teach Supplementary Education for physicians with a degree outside the EU/EEA and we also organize several METIS-courses (theoretical medical specialist training) and conduct Commissioned Education in neuroscience and psychiatry.
