The Faculty of Humanities has six departments with around 3,200 students at first- and second-cycle level, and about 100 third-cycle students, with roughly 550 employees. The newly constructed Nya Humanisten building brings together all of the Faculty's activities under the one roof in central Gothenburg.
The Faculty of Humanities at the University of Gothenburg also has the University’s biggest offering of freestanding courses. Here, students can choose from over 600 courses, but also 22 study programmes in the humanities.
We also conduct research on a wide range of topics. The Faculty of Humanities also hosts many research groups and a number of centres of expertise and research, all working to promote research, education, and collaboration within the humanities.
The Faculty also holds a number of lectures and events that are open to the general public. Other community outreach activities include open lectures held at libraries and museums.
