In your first days in Gothenburg, there will be lots to do and absorb. But you don't have to be nervous; we have a great onboarding programme for all our international students.
Welcome Programme
The International Student Welcome Programme is held at the beginning of each semester. This program of events and activities provides international students with practical information about the University, Swedish culture, and the city of Gothenburg. It is also a perfect opportunity to meet other international students from all over the world.
Some parts of the program are completely digital, allowing you to participate even before arriving in Gothenburg.

The Student Portal
The Student Portal is our website where you will find everything you need to know about studying at the University. It includes an entire section designed to introduce new students to essential information, from WiFi setup to registration processes and campus maps.
Activities and information sessions hosted by the University
Welcome Services, International Centre arranges a variety of activities and events throughout the semester to help you settle in and ensure your stay in Gothenburg is as enjoyable as possible. Many activities are also arranged togheter with student ambassadors or the student unions. The activities are marketed in the monthly newsletter, that is sent out automatically to all international students.
