Industrial economy study how markets work

Industrial economics

Industrial economists study how markets work. We are often concerned with the causes and consequences of market power, typically in oligopolistic industries.

Industrial economists also study the effects of public policies aimed at reducing the adverse effects of market power. Examples include competition policy (anti-trust) and regulation in the market place.
