Doctoral Studies

The postgraduate programme is partly organised as a faculty-wide research school dealing with theoretical and methodological issues, with a special focus on artistic and educational research.

The education is conducted in close collaboration with other departments within the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology.
The objective of postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts is to provide a clear research basis for artistic and educational expertise.

Through their education, Ph.D. student will gain both breadth and depth. This comes about through compulsory courses that are directed towards general and fundamental theoretical and methodological proficiency, while the individual independent studies and dissertation work are directed towards issues that are specific for the PhD student.
