GPS400: Centre for Collaborative Visual Research

In April 2019, the vice-chancellor of the University of Gothenburg installed “GPS400: Centre for Collaborative Visual Research” for a six-year-long period. Within the centre, representatives from four UGOT-faculties and several departments at Chalmers University of Technology undertake collaborative visual research together with archives, libraries, museums, NGOs, commercial partners, and civic society. Together we test, develop, investigate visual source material, and disseminate empirically valid knowledge about past, present, and future uses and representations of images with the help of innovative models and methods. The long-term goal is that GPS400 is established as a permanent academic resource for international and interdisciplinary collaborative visual research.
