Many researchers at the department are engaged in projects on health care and social care. Evidence-basing is one important focus of the milieu. What ethical principles are applicable in production of knowledge syntheses and reviews? What is the meaning of "best available knowledge”  within areas where there is a scarcity of randomized studies? Researchers at the department have published a number of systematic reviews on preventive interventions, e.g. within ANDTS prevention (alcohol, narcotics, doping, tobacco and gambling). These issues are also dealt with in the master’s program in evidence-basing for various professionals within the welfare sector.
