About us

Research Vessel (R/V) Skagerak is a part of the Marine Infrastructure at the University of Gothenburg. This also includes Tjärnö Marine Laboratory.

University of Gothenburg owns and coordinate scientific work on board Skagerak. University of Gothenburg has commissioned Northern Offshore Services to staff the vessel and to be responsible for maritime safety.

Marine Infrastructure

The Marine Infrastructure at the University of Gothenburg consists of Tjärnö Marine Laboratory, and the larger research vessel R/V Skagerak. Host department is the Department of Marine Sciences. The University of Gothenburg is also host organisation for the national infrastructure Kristineberg Center for marine research and innovation.
