Ships

There are two research vessels used at Kristineberg, as well as several smaller boats.

R/V Oscar von Sydow

The research vessel Oscar von Sydow, length 12 metres, is equipped for marine research and education during day-trips in inshore waters. The trained and experienced crew is familiar with handling and deploying scientific equipment, and with local conditions. During sampling Oscar von Sydow can take 15 persons on board.

R/V Alice

The research vessel Alice, length 12 metres, is equipped for physical, chemical and biological sampling during day-trips in inshore waters. The trained and experienced crew is familiar with handling and deploying scientific equipment, and with local conditions. During sampling Alice can take 8 persons on board.

Equipment

The ships have a wide selection of instruments and sampling equipment both for open water and sediment, including plankton nets, dredges, CTD, rosette water sampler, multiple corer, piston corer, box corer, scanfishetc.

We also have field equipment used in shallow waters and from land, as well as from smaller boats.

Smaller boats

At Kristineberg there are several smaller boats with outboard engines.
