Accommodations and meals

Researchers, students and conference guests can stay at the station overnight and have their meals at our restaurant. Stay a single night or for a longer period of time, the choice is yours.

Our accommodations

The summerlab

Summer Laboratory
Kristineberg's most historical building. Here are eight rooms: one single room, two double rooms, four triple rooms and one quadruple room. All rooms have a toilet and there is access to a shared showers.

Mässen, building

Mässen
Our restaurant which also offers accommodation upstairs. There are twelve double rooms with toilet, as well as access to a shared kitchen and meeting room. Ten of the rooms have en-suite showers and two of the rooms have access to shared shower.

The Annex
There are six smaller apartments with kitchenettes: one single room, four double rooms and one triple room. All apartments have their own bathroom with toilet and shower. One of the apartments is adapted for accessibility and features a ground-level entrance, an accessible bathroom, and a visual evacuation alarm.

The house Prefekten

Prefekten
Our bachelor and master students live in this villa while working on their theses. The villa has one single room and three double rooms. The residents share a kitchen, living room and bathroom.

Yellow villa, building

The Yellow Villa

Suitable for up to ten people who want to share a house together with their own kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room.

Common areas

Everyone who stay overnight can access our sauna, and use our washing machines and drying room. Many of our bedrooms have desks, but you can also find workspaces in our library.

Our restaurant - Mässen

Mässen serves homemade food five days a week with a view of the Gullmar fjord. There is also a communal area that can be used in the evenings and at weekends.

There is also a well-equipped kitchenette that can be used by those staying at the station who want to cook or heat their own food.

Opening hours

We serve breakfast and lunch Monday-Friday.

Dinner is served Monday-Thursday.

The kitchenette and dining hall is available for our residents around the clock.

The surroundings

Kristineberg is located in beautiful surroundings with great opportunities for outdoor activities. It's easy to get to and from the station with public transport.

Nearby are fine beaches and swimming areas, as well as opportunities for climbing, hiking or kayaking. For more information on activities see the tourist office in Lysekil.

The nearest shop is Tempo in Fiskebäckskil, about 1.6 km walk from the centre. In Lysekil there is a pharmacy, liquor store and other shops.

Public transport

You can easily get to the centre by public transport. The buses to Kristineberg stop in Fiskebäckskil and you have to walk the last bit. There is also a passenger ferry between Fiskebäckskil and Lysekil. Ferry and bus times can be found at vasttrafik.se.
