Research Themes
Our work is divided along the themes identified by the Joint Programming Initiative for Antimicrobial Resistance (JPI-AMR): Diagnostics, Surveillance, Transmission, Environmental Pollution, Therapeutics, and Interventions. Research along these themes as well as efforts into Education and Outreach will create new resources to tackle this global challenge. We have chosen to primarily focus on a crucial threat, multi-resistant carbapenamase producing enterobacteriaceae (CPE). Infections with these bacteria are threatening the very basis of modern medicine and are often considered the greatest antibiotic resistance threat on the horizon.

The scope and thematic distribution is arranged to reflect the priority topics identified within the (JPIAMR) strategic research agenda. The intention of JPI-AMR and its strategic research agenda is to streamline and optimize research efforts around antibiotic resistance in Europe (and other member states outside of the EU, including Argentina, Canada, Egypt, India, Israel, Japan, South Africa, South Korea and Turkey [28 member states in total])
Would you like to donate money to CARe in order to support antibiotic resistance research?
Thank you for considering a donation to the Antibiotic Resistance Research Centre (CARe). Your support will help us in our vision to limit mortality, morbidity and socioeconomic costs related to antibiotic resistance on a global scale through research.
