About Mattias Svensson

Mattias jointed the Department of Rheumatology and Inflammation Research in January 2020 after a six-year postdoc in the laboratory of Prof. Nunzio Bottini at the La Jolla Institute of Immunology and University of California, San Diego in US. In Gothenburg, Mattias has established his own independent research group, which focuses on the interaction between the innate immune system and local joint stromal cells in the pathogenesis of Rheumatoid Arthritis. For his research he has received funding from both national (e.g. Swedish Foundation for Medical Research, Swedish Research Council, Foundation for Research in Rheumatology (FOREUM), Jeansson Foundations, Åke Wiberg) and international (e.g. National Institutes of Health (NIH)) sources.
