I am the Chairman of the Faculty Board, the Teacher Proposal Committee, the Head of the Department Council, the Local Work Environment Committee and the Premises Committee. In addition, I am a member of the Vice Chancellor's Leadership Council and member of the University Library Board. Previously, I have been Deputy Dean with responsibility for research and postgraduate education and Chairman of the Education Board's permanent Committee for Postgraduate Education at the University of Gothenburg. Before that, I was Vice Head of the Department of Social Work with responsibility for research and postgraduate education. I have also been the Director of Studies for the doctoral program at the same department. Throughout my work as a teacher and researcher, there is a strong focus on international cooperation. In 2012-2015 I was employed as a researcher and teacher at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, and during the fall semester 2010 I was a visiting researcher at the University of Texas, Houston, USA.

My research interests and ongoing research projects focus on how new technologies affect various social phenomena and aspects of everyday life. More specifically, my research has focused on love and sexuality on the internet, parenting and the internet, and cyberbullying. I also do research on sexuality, parenting, and bullying in a broader sense. Other areas of interest include scientific method and philosophy of science. My research results have been reported in almost 100 publications, mainly in international scientific journals.

I have taught at all levels in the subject of social work and supervised students at B, C and D level, as well as doctoral students in the doctoral program - both nationally and internationally. Today I teach and supervise mainly in the doctoral program. In addition to teaching in my research areas, I mainly teach research methods and theory of science.

I hold and have held several positions of trust in the scientific community. Among other things, I am a member of the editorial boards of the international journals Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy and International Journal of Sexual Health. In addition, I have had assignments as an opponent and member of examining committees. I have acted as a peer reviewer for national and international research councils as well as for appointments and promotions. I am regularly engaged as a reviewer for international scientific journals. In 2022, I was part of the assessment group that evaluated all doctoral programs at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Uppsala University.
