Background
I am an Associate Professor and lecturer at the Department of Social Work. I started my research as a doctoral student at the then Nordic School of Public Health and completed my dissertation in 2017 on the thesis "If they only knew. Bullying victimization among children and youth in the Nordic countries”. Since then, I have continued to be interested in bullying and related research areas. In my work, both national and international collaborations are important. I have an ongoing collaboration with the School Bullying Research Group at the Department of Behavioural Sciences and Learning at Linköping University, where I previously worked as a post-doctoral researcher. Since 2016, I have been a member of the Swedish national team of the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC), which is a WHO collaborative cross-national study of adolescent health and well-being.
Research
My research focus is on bullying among children. In particular, I am interested in children and young people who have been bullied and how their leisure time, mental health, and social relations are affected by bullying. My research is also about the hidden bullying, the one that children are exposed to but adults are unaware of. When, and under what circumstances, children who are bullied choose to tell an adult about the victimisation or, tries to deal with the situation without adult intervention, are processes that characterizes my research interest.
