About Åsa Borgström
Doctor of Philosofy in social work. I have many years´ experience of social work in practice, in social services and school contexts.
Research areas My research interest is in the context of children and young people with special focus on intellectual disability, internet, social media, risk, coping, support, self-presentations, challenges, qualitative research, methodological discussion.
PhD thesis Connected to the world - young people with intellectual disability and their experience of social activities on internet.
The PhD project was part of the research project Particip@tion on internet? Pupils with intellectual disabilities and identification processes on internet at University West, Trollhättan, Sweden.
Teaching I am teaching at the Bachelor of Science Programme in Social Work. I have also been teaching at Teacher Education Programmes. Additionally, I have been a course coordinator at the Master´s programme in Social Work.
