About us
The Center for Finance (CFF) is a finance research center at the University of Gothenburg, and is part of the Department of Economics. CFF's research primarily focuses on the intermediation of financial services, companies that borrow from consumers/savers and then lend to businesses that use these funds for investments. Those who intermediate financial resources and services are of central importance for economic growth, as the financial processes operate around them.
CFF was established in 2003 as a joint initiative between the Department of Economics and the Department of Business Administration, with the aim of gathering the resources of the School of Business, Economics, and Law in the field of finance, both in education and research. From 2011, CFF operated as one of Sweden's three finance research centers, a 10-year initiative with funding from VINNOVA.
