About Marie Berg

Professor in Health Care Sciences specialising Reproductive and Perinatal Health, a position including clinical work as midwife at the Maternity Care unit, Sahlgrenska University Hospital.

Responsible for the discipline "Reproductive and Perinatal Health". Has driven the establishment of academic degrees: bachelor and master in the discipline. The Master program is the first and only in Sweden full program for midwives.

Member of the Sahlgrenska Academy board, the faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Gothenburg.

Member of the Scientific board to the Swedish Midwives Association.

Leader of the "Childbirth research group" at the Institute of Health and Care Sciences. 

International activities with focus development and research projects in Rwanda and Dem. Rep Congo; in  Europe as part of a COST action IS1405.

Earlier central funtions: Head of the Midiwifery program, Head of the research program in health and Care Sciences.
