Short description

PLACE: Public Life, Arts and Critical Engagement is the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts' research platform for consolidating existing research and involvement in the policy area for designed living environment (2017/18: 110). PLACE develops practice-based research for increased democratization and influence over living environments, public spaces and meeting places.

This page is constantly updated with more information as PLACE develops.

The initiative aims to gather and strengthen critical research and involvement in the Swedish governments' Policy for Designed Living Environment (2017/18: 110), develop artistic methods, broaden design definitions, and initiate new collaborations and forms of co-production

The long-term goal is to critically work towards democratisation and de-segregation of

  • spatial resources
  • public spaces
  • higher art education
  • public art assignments
