About Maria Åström

Research interests

Research interests in large-scale assessment instruments, with focus on science item content to support learning in compulsory school. Thesis "Defining Integrated Science Education and Putting it to Test" in 2008. Maria participated in funded research about “Reliability in assessing master thesis in teacher education” (in Swedish Med mitt mått mätt). Presently in a funded practice research project about teaching science models in pre- and primary school (ÄMNOS).

Teaching

Teaches science education at primary teacher education, secondary science teacher education and master teacher education. Special interest in physics and science education. Supervision and examination of students theses and practical work.
