
Apply for MFA Organ and Related Keyboard Instruments
This information concerns applications to the Master's Programme in Organ and Related Keyboard Instruments.
Your application process
The following applies to students starting autumn 2022.
- Apply for the programme through universityadmissions.se
Application period: 1 December 2021 – 17 January 2022. - Complete your eligibility no later than 1 February 2022. More information on general requirements for master's level studies.
- Pay your application fee no later than 1 February 2022. If you are exempt from paying the application fee, you must prove your exemption status by the same date. More information on universityadmissions.se.
- Choose between admission tests on campus or digitally: 2 February 2022, we will send an e-mail asking you whether you want to do your admission test on site or online.
- Admission tests on campus: You will be contacted by a teacher during calendar week 8 to choose the organ you want to play on. Tests and interviews will take place on 8 March 2022.
- Digital admission tests: Submit your work test via SlideRoom from 4 to 28 February 2022. On 2 March, you will receive an invitation for an interview via video call which will take place on 8 March 2022.

Admission tests
The following applies to students starting autumn 2022.
Compulsory test parts
- Organ audition with 20 minutes of music chosen by you. You can show skills in interpretation or improvisation or both.
- Johann Sebastian Bach: Nun komm der Heiden Heiland (BWV 659). You are expected to obtain sheet music yourself.
Voluntary test part
During the tests, you also have the opportunity to show your skills on keyboard instrument other than the organ. Choices are harpsichord, fortepiano, harmonium, clavichord and modern piano. For this part you have 10 minutes at your disposal.
Choose between admission tests on campus or digitally
After the last application day, you can choose whether you want to do the admission tests on site or if you want to send in video recordings.
Test on campus
Before the admission tests, you will be contacted to choose which organ you want to play on. You will also receive information regarding preparation times on your chosen instrument for the audition.
In connection with the audition, you will be interviewed about what you plan to focus on in your independent work.
Digital admission tests
You make video recordings for the various test parts as follows:
- Video 1: Organ audition with 20 minutes of freely chosen music.
- Video 2: Johann Sebastian Bach: Nun komm der Heiden Heiland (BWV 659
- Video 3: Voluntary audition on keyboard instrument other than the organ. You have 10 minutes at your disposal.
The finished video recordings are uploaded via SlideRoom.
A short interview is conducted via video call. More information will be sent to you via e-mail.
Requirements for the video recordings
- The recordings sound must be of high quality.
- The applicant must be in close-up. Face, arms and instruments should be clearly visible.
- You must upload separate video files for organ (required) and related piano instruments (optional).
- The video files can be a maximum of 500 MB each and be in any of the following formats: .m4v, .mov, .mp4, .wmv, .flv, .asf, .mpeg, .mpg, .mkv

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, we are forced to adapt our admission tests in accordance with the recommendations of the Public Health Agency of Sweden. These recommendations are subject to change at short notice, which means that the tests may need to be further adapted. Any changes are published on this page. In the event of changes, we will also notify you via the email address you specify when applying.
Eligibility and selection
Entry requirements
Bachelor degree of arts in music or equivalent, and musical knowledge and skills that are assessed at the admission test and are the basis for selection.
Selection
Selection of eligible applicants is based upon entrance tests.
