Unit for Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism

Research at the Unit for PKDM encompasses pharmacokinetic, metabolic, toxicological and pharmacodynamic studies of small molecules as well as non-traditional synthetic and biological drugs to enable recommendation of safe and efficacious future treatments with a particular focus on poverty-related infections.
Research projects range from clarifying molecular mechanisms of drug disposition, via translational studies using in vitro tools and computational modeling, to clarifying the clinical disposition and efficacy of drugs in specific human populations.
