About Ylva Odenbring

Research interests

Focus of my research is in the field of sociology of education around social justice in school. Methodically, the research draws on ethnographic studies as well as interview studies. I am interested in the construction of gender, sexuality, social class, student welfare, student victimisation, processes of inclusion and exclusion in education as well as in the everyday lives of children and adolescents. I'm part of the research group KRIT.

Current research projects

  • I'm the research leader in the research project Mental health issues and victimisation among LGBTQI-youth: a comparative study in Swedish and Danish schools (2022-2025), funded by the Swedish Research Council.   • I'm participating researcher in the research project Implementing HPV vaccination for all children in Sweden: gender equality and sexual health among young people (2021-2024), funded by the Swedish Research Council for Health, Working Life and Welfare (Forte).
