About Ylva Odenbring

Research interests

Ylva Odenbring is Professor of Education (PhD). Her research is renowned within the field of sociology of education around social justice in education and studies of children’s and adolescents’ living conditions and social (in)justice. Her research focus issues around student victimisation, student welfare, child poverty and food poverty. Methodically, the research mainly draws on critical ethnographic studies and interview studies. Ylva has extensive experience of national and international collaborations as PI as well as participating researcher. Currently she is the convenor of NERA's Gender and Education network, chair of the Colloquium Gender Perspectives in Education and the chair of the research group Critical Theories (KRIT).
