Rebecka is an architect and teacher in art and design. Since 2008, Rebecka has been working as a lecturer at the Faculty of Education in Gothenburg and since 2010 also at the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts at the Department of Visual and Material Culture.
Rebecka has a Master of Fine Arts (HDK, 1998), and used to work as designer in retail, with furniture, exhibition designs and private homes. She also has a degree of Master of Arts in Primary school and upper secondary education. She has worked as design teacher at the Crafts Education at Nääs, as art teacher in secondary schools and as a pedagogical architect in children’s projects for the city of Gothenburg.
At the Faculty of Education her teaching and lectures has mainly been in the field of Visual Literacy, visual communication, semiotics and developing visual skills. Her pedagogic approach is that imagery could play a greater role in education, as it can offer a wider, multimodal way of communication. Through images, thoughts and ideas can be expressed, shared, discussed and developed. Images can therefore contribute to intersubjectivity and a more inclusive classroom.
Rebecka is also a published author and illustrator.
