About Emilia Kristiansson

Doctoral student at the Department of Physiology at the Institution of Neuroscience and Physiology, Sahlgrenska Academy. I am part of the research group PONCH (Pregnancy Obesity Nutrition Child Health) led by Professor Agneta Holmäng, which is a prospective, longitudinal study investigating the influence of diet, obesity and gestational diabetes (GDM) on maternal and child metabolic health.

My PhD project aims to investigate health post gestational diabetes, in particular, development of impaired blood sugar control and type-2 diabetes. The health variables investigated includes various blood tests, body composition and anthropometry, fitness variables (for example, oxygen uptake and strength measures), and self-reported questionnaires (for example, physical activity and wellbeing).

Supervisors for my PhD studies are Ulrika Andersson Hall (main supervisor), Agneta Holmäng (co-supervisor), and Kristina Wallenius (co-supervisor).
