Marie Stenseke, professor in Human Geography at the School of Business, Economics and Law, University of Gothenburg, is elected member in the Swedish National Committee for Global Environmental Change.

The committee mission is to promote research and education within the field of global environmental change and sustainability. The committee will also work towards interdisciplinary cooperation and strengthen the field throughout the society - in the business sector, schools and the public. Furthermore, the committee will function as an advisor to the educational system and work as an expert body for the Royal Academy of Sciences.

– I am happy and honored to be elected into such an exciting and important context as KVA's National Committee for Global Environmental Change. I look forward to working with prominent colleagues from different disciplines and universities. It has become increasingly clear that cooperation between different areas of knowledge is required to deal with climate change and the loss of biodiversity in ways that also promotes good quality of life for all humans and global justice. I am passionate about interdisciplinarity and hope to through the committee work be involved in developing the forms for it in both theory and practice, says Marie Stenseke.
