Assessing admission tests: Musical skills, or attitude and dress style?

Published

Musical skills, or attitude and dress style - which factors play a part in recruitment of new students to Swedish music teacher programmes through auditions? This is the subject of a new scientific article written by researchers at the Academy of Music and Drama and the University of Karlstad.

The article is written by PhD Monica Lindgren and PhD Olle Zandén, both researchers at the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg, and by PhD Ragnhild Sandberg Jurström, researcher at the University of Karlstad. It is part of larger research project in collaboration between the two institutions and the Linné University, and is financed through support from the Swedish Research Council. The article was published in the international journal Research Studies of Music Education in April 2021. Read the article: Musical skills, or attitude and dress style?
