Natural Sciences/ Mathematics, specialising in Educational Sciences

In a welfare society, mathematics and natural sciences are needed both in the daily lives of citizens and to maintain the welfare system. Many students and adults find mathematics and natural sciences challenging. Therefore, it is crucial to conduct research on students' learning and teachers' instruction in these subjects, as well as to provide teacher training in mathematics and natural sciences.

At the University of Gothenburg, there are several research environments in the field of mathematics, natural sciences, and education. The theme aims to contribute to gathering and fostering collaboration among these different environments.

The theme leaders are Associate Professor Cecilia Kilhamn from the Department of Didactics and Educational Profession, and Angela Wulff from the Department of Biology and Environmental Sciences.
