Research Area Ann's areas of expertise include disability research, especially in the area of neuropsychiatric disorders (NPF) thar includes ADHD, ADD, Autism spektrum Disorder, Asperger Syndrome and Tourettes syndrom, educational strategies, communication and special education. Ann is also involved in research on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). http://www.who.int/classifications/icf/en/
Background Ann is a trained psychiatric career and has worked in psychiatric and community caretaking for about 20 years. Ann has work as a project manager at Studieförbundet Vuxenskolan in Jönköping and evaluated the psychiatric health care within the municipality and healthcare. Ann received her Ph.D in Disability Research, has a master's degree in media and communication, university degree in disability studies. She has also studied social psychology and sociology.
Competence Ann defended her thesis "One wants to manage on one's own" – Everyday student-life for students with Asperger Syndrome in higher education. She conducts research on students diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome (AS).
