About Oskar Broberg

My main research focus is Business and Financial History. During the past years I have written about the emergence of organic farming in Sweden and the transformation of the Swedish advertising market in the last decades. I have also been involved in a project on the profitability of international investments 1869-1969, based on companies listed on the London Stock Exchange. We studied the relationship between colonialism and financial markets. This was a joint venture with Klas Rönnbäck. At present I am involved in a project on the development of the Swedish payment system 1850-2020, in collaboration with Magnus Willesson (GU, project leader), Viktor Elliot (GU) and Orsi Husz (Uppsala University).

Besides research and teaching, since July 1st 2024, I am also functioning as vice dean - responsible for teaching - at the School of Business, Economics and Law.
